You can work out towards a healthier you in its spacious, state-of-the-art gym or at over 40 energising classes and then wind down in the superb spa area that boasts a rainforest-style tepidarium along with a relaxing sauna and steam room.

Bolton Arena is one of the leading tennis academies in the country, and some of the country's most talented young players are drawn to our area because of this.

It has eight acrylic indoor tennis courts with a playing surface of the standard at Florida's Flushing Meadow and two American floodlit dry clay courts. It also has two badminton courts.

Bolton Arena has four five-a-side pitches, a seven-a-side pitch and a larger floodlit multi-use games area (MUGA). All are floodlit and have the 3rd generation synthetic surface replicating the playing conditions of real grass. There is a floodlit full size grass pitch. Over 3,500 players and 200 teams play there in leagues and tournaments every week, with leagues running 6 nights a week.

It is a hub for clubs and the community because of its many facilities. It also provides facilities and sports programmes suitable for children, schools and community groups. The town of Horwich, with its proud tradition of excellence in running, benefits from its 400 metre running track.

The Arena has also shown itself to be one of the UK's most versatile and well-equipped venues. From hosting big events such as the Commonwealth Games' badminton tournament in 2002, to four of Amir Khan's professional boxing matches, the venue also regularly hosts exhibitions, concerts, gymnastics and dance festivals as well as a popular Comedy Store show in its purpose-built theatre space.
