Horwich Festival of Racing

After the success of the Commonwealth Games, partly hosted by Horwich back in 2002, the racing spirit lives on in our town when the Horwich Festival of Racing takes place each Summer.

The interest generated by the 2002 Commonwealth Games Cycle Races lead to the creation of this annual festival.

It attracts both international and national competitors, as well as providing the opportunity for local youngsters to take part as well.

The streets are filled with cyclists, runners, joggers, fun runners and also serious athletes competing in national races. Horwich Town Council is a major sponsor of the Horwich Festival of Racing.
