The Resource Centre was officially opened by the Town Mayor on Saturday, 27 April, 1991. It is a base for voluntary groups and supporting services. Voluntary groups use the Centre for activity sessions, committee meetings, luncheon clubs and fund raising events. Supporting services are those considered to be of community benefit, such as child care, facilities for older people, the disabled and community education. The number of groups using the Centre on a regular basis has increased steadily with weekly, monthly and annual events.
Open to the public from 9.00am until 10.00pm Monday to Friday and from 9.00am until 4.00pm most Saturdays, it has the benefit of full disabled access and facilities. There is a warm, welcoming atmosphere and the staff are always pleasant and helpful.
FREE admission is available to the public from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm Monday to Friday and on Saturdays from 10.00 am to 12.30 pm. Group visits can also be arranged on request.
