Horwich - A Fairtrade Town

Fairtrade BananasWe will "contribute to the Fairtrade Foundation's aim of tackling poverty by enabling disadvantaged producers from poor countries to receive a better deal, through encouraging support for the Fairtrade Mark"

That's what being a Fairtrade Town is all about.

Fairtrade LogoHorwich Town Council resolved to support the town's bid for Fairtrade Satus at its Committee Meeting on 14 June, 2004.

By doing so we agreed to serve only Fairtrade tea and coffee at all our meetings and to do everything we could to raise awareness of Fairtrade.

Councillor Stephen Rock, Town Mayor was delighted to receive the official certificate declaring that Horwich was now a Fairtrade Town on 2 June, 2005.

The range of Fairtrade goods is now very varied and more lines are being added all the time. And they're all of excellent quality.
