Horwich Parkway

Horwich Parkway Horwich Parkway rail station was officially opened on 2nd July 1999 by Bolton West MP Ruth Kelly. Costing 4 million, the station is situated at Middlebrook, next to the Reebok Stadium. Horwich Parkway links Preston and Blackpool to the north and Bolton and Manchester to the south.

The Station is supported by a regular bus services and taxis. People are being encouraged to leave their cars at home, therefore easing road traffic, cutting pollution and benefitting the environment.

Over 85,000 passengers have used Horwich Parkway since opening in July 1999

The nearest stations are at Horwich Parkway, Blackrod and Lostock where there are "Park and Ride" facilities.

Various private bus companies operate in the Horwich area providing frequent bus services to all neighbouring towns, with connections to coastal resorts.

Chairperson of the Council

Cllr Peter Baxendale, became Town Mayor on 12 May 2011 and his term of office will last one year.

You are welcome to invite the Town Mayor to events in the Parish of Horwich, and he will also try to visit anyone who is celebrating a 50th wedding anniversary or a 100th birthday.
