Arts, Culture & Entertainment

Horwich is fortunate to have many organisations that hold events that can be enjoyed by all the community. Art, craft and creative writing groups meet regularly at Horwich Community Centre – visit the HCC page for more information. There are also choirs, an art society and the famous Horwich Prize Medal Morris Men who host visiting Morris teams on ‘A Day for St George’ on the nearest Saturday to St George’s Day in April every year.

Horwich also has a yearly Carnival weekend in June with a street parade and lots of other fun events such as baby and dog shows along with ‘meet the celebrity’ and a funfair. The Town Council is a major sponsor of Horwich Carnival, the only remaining Carnival in the Bolton borough.

2016 saw the revival of the Horwich Music Festival at Horwich Community Centre. This event was held over three days in May, organised by a small group of enthusiastic volunteers and with financial support from the Town Council. This event has been held every year over three days in the summer organised by enthusiastic volunteers and with financial support from the Town Council.
